We made it to May! As the school year winds down to a close, I am making this my final blog with pictures for this school year. The kids have worked hard and played hard this year and from here on out until graduation we will be taking some steps back and only doing academic things a few days a week instead of every day.

I want to thank you all for allowing me to part of you and your child's life. It is an honor to be able to teach and work with these sweet children. We have had our good days, our crazy days, our ups and downs, but in the end of the day this little classroom is family and we all love and take care of each other.

I also want to brag on my daughter for a moment. Most of the kids in our classroom know Ms. Jamie (who works in the afternoons at our center) and knows she goes to high school. On May 19th she will be receiving an academic award and on June 11th she will graduate from Tuscola High School with two honors: Career and Technical Honors and North Carolina State Scholar. She was born a preemie and despite several medical conditions and health challenges she works hard and doesn't let anything get in her way. She will be attending Southwestern Community College for the fall semester in the Paralegal program. 

• This Thursday, May 8th, is our Mother's Day tea party in our classroom during morning drop off time. The kids have been hard at work creating several gifts for their moms and will proudly be presenting them to you at the tea party. 

• This Friday, May 9th, I will be out all day. Ms. Tempie will be subbing for me. 

• Friday, May 23rd is a luncheon for the graduates. It will be held in the Fellowship Hall from 11:30 to 1:00. You can either take your child home after the luncheon or come back for them at 3:00 to get them home and ready for graduation. Dismissal time for graduates is 3:00 on Friday, May 23rd. 

• Graduation is Friday, May 23rd at 6:30 (I apologize for the time change. I have been telling you 6:00 and it is actually 6:30) Drop your child off in our classroom by 6:00 to help them get on their cap/gown and then you can head on to the Sanctuary. After graduation your child will be waiting for you in our classroom. Please sign them out and head outside for the ice cream social. If you would like to take pictures of them in their cap/gown in the classroom/hallway or outside, please sign out your child first. After you have taken the pictures, please return the cap/gown to our classroom. Your child gets to keep the tassel! 

• We will be closed Monday, May 26th and Tuesday May 27th. We re-open for summer on May 28th.
