This week we will be working on letter Rr, number 27 and the heart shape. As always, we will be working social/emotional skills, conflict resolution and self regulation. Our small groups focus on fine motor skills, math, literacy and STEM activities.
- Please leave jewelry at home. The only jewelry allowed is non-dangly earrings.
- We go outside pretty much all the time unless there is active precipitation or our weather chart says it's too cold or hot to go outside. We can take the kids out down to 10 degrees for about 10-15 minutes. We factor in wind chill as well for those cold days for the "feels like" temps. For the hot days we factor in humidity for the "feels like" temps. Please make sure your child has an appropriate coat, hat and gloves for those cold days. We have a wind and temperature gauge on top of the older kids play set on the playground and it relays info to a little computer thing in the office that lets us know the temperature and wind speed outside. Kids do not get sick from being cold, they get sick from being inside too much with germs percolating and building up. They need to get outside to get fresh air, a change of scenery, get the large muscles moving and to play.
- Children need to be in the classroom by 9 a/m. We need to have an accurate count of how many children are in each classroom for staffing and lunch preparation reasons and as well as our class starts our learning at approximately 9 a/m. If your child has a dr appt please let the office know, leave a note with Miss Regina, email me...please make sure one of us has received your message so we know if your child will be late. If you arrive with your child after 9 a/m, most likely you will be asked to take your child back home. This has been a school wide policy for awhile now.
