Despite having a very short week, we still had fun! Monday was our delicious Thanksgiving Feast. I am very thankful for the volunteers that come help out behind the scenes and serve the food! It was great to see all the parents and family members and friends come out to be with the kids and celebrate. On Tuesday we made mini pumpkin pies. The recipe was supposed to make 48 mini pies, but when I read the fine print, it made 48 pies in the 1.75 inch pie shell, not the 3 inch pie shell. Oh well...we enjoyed them anyway and I had a few to take home to my kids!
This coming week is going to kick off a very busy time with preparations for our Christmas tea party for parents and helping out with gifts for the homeless and people who are helped out by the Open Door. We will be working on letters Ss and Cc, numbers 22 and 23, the rectangle shape and the sight word "the".
A permission slip was sent home on Monday for your child to ride in our church van to Wal-Mart to go shopping for gifts to take to the Open Door. If your child does not attend on Thursdays, you (or relative) are welcome to meet us and come shopping with us. Just let me know and I can call or text you and let you when we are on our way.
On the day of our trip, the 4th, please leave your child's car/booster seat outside of our classroom. Please make sure it has your child's name on it somewhere. We will get the seats all buckled and strapped into the van before we load up the kids.
If you are bringing in money to donate for our gifts, please have it in by Monday so we can contact Perry at the Open Door with the $$ amount we have collected so he can guide us on what things are needed. Depending on how much we collect, we can either provide Christmas for a family or buy much needed supplies like toiletries, gloves, hats, etc for those less fortunate.

Christmas Tea Party for parents on December 22. This is a drop-in event starting at 7:30 in the Fellowship Hal. Your child will have gifts for you they have made and we will have some treats to eat.
