My husband is on a plane out of Pittsburgh to Sao Paulo Brazil where he will be for two weeks working on the Go Live portion of the latest project. I didn't mind when he was in Italy, France or Germany, but when he and the other people from MSA Safety are in Brazil, they are picked up in an armored van and taken to the plant and offices and they can only go out in groups and never at night. So needless to say I get a little worried until I hear from him each day vial email or Skype.
This past week was a whirlwind! We made apple pie roll-ups and ate them with our morning snack, did some yoga, had Chapel, writers workshop and went on our fun field trip to Barber's Orchard where I thought the kids where fabulous! I am very proud of them! Miss Jane always does a great job with the kids and the kids enjoy tasting the different kinds of apples. The cold room where they store the apples was 36, which felt good to me, but the kids thought it was cold! We walked through the bakery area where they bake the pies and turnovers and it smelled so good! When our tour was all done the children had a apple cider doughnut and apple cider!
This week along with letter Ff, number 10, the diamond (rhombus) shape and the sight word "up", we will be learning about Japan...the people, the culture, the food, the music, paint our own words using the Japanese writing style and and learn some words in Japanese. On Tuesday we will be ordering food from Kobe Express for the kids for lunch. It will be the rice and chicken entree and everyone, even if you have opted out for the food program will be able to eat with us! We will also be doing a fun science experiment and having our usual fun indoors and out!
We are starting two new things this week.....
1. I will have a sign-in sheet each day for the children to sign in just like their parents!
2. When it is your child's leader day, please have them bring in a magazine picture, printed out picture or really thin label from a box/pkg of our letter of the week. If it is your child's leader day this week, be looking for pictures of things that start with letter Ff.
