This past week we studied things about winter and the kids did some fun activities with Mrs. Judy in the morning and we have also been reading stories about snowmen and winter! We started our writing journals and will be doing them weekly. We are continuing to work on our fine motor skills including holding and using scissors the correct way and using a crayon/marker correctly.
The children enjoyed telling us what they got for Christmas and they drew a picture of their favorite thing as well. I was really impressed with how smooth the transition was for all our children coming back from a long break! Your kids are awesome!
Please make sure your child has a complete change of clothing in their cubby. Milk and water gets spilled, food gets spilled, they roll all over the ground outside and get dirt and mud on themselves and we need to change them when that happens.
Please make sure your child's name and date is on their water bottle every day.
Please make sure your child has a hat and gloves/mittens for outside play. We go outside even when the temperatures drop below freezing and we want them to be warm and comfortable when playing outside.
Please continue to help working at home with your child with scissor skills. Have them cut up printer paper, an empty box..anything to help them strengthen the muscles in their hands and keep working on using scissors correctly.
We will be closed Monday, January 16th in observance of Martin Luther King Day.
