October 22, 2017

Good morning! I don't know about you, but I love this fall weather! Nice cool mornings and evenings with some warm sun in between!

This past week we worked on letter N, number 12 and the rhombus shape. We worked in small groups using fine motor skills, creating art with different materials, learning math skills and literacy skills.

This week we are working on letter Kk, number 13 and the heart shape. We will be reading some more fall and Halloween stories and continue working on phonemic awareness, book concepts, literacy, math, fine motor, gross motor and social/emotional skills.

I want to try something new and see how it turns out...it may work, or it may not, but we are going to try :)   We really want the kids to learn the letter sounds which they will need to sound out words in beginning reading. If you have any magazines laying around, or can help your child find a picture on the computer and print it off,  please have them bring in a picture with a word that begins with the letter Kk so we can talk about each picture and the beginning letter sound for that picture.

This week is our annual K-Prep Halloween party! I still need volunteers...about 4 more people! I need a person at each game and two at the craft table and prior to the games people to set out the food and help serve the kids.

Please remember to bring in a bag of wrapped candy. (or another bag if you want! :) ) We fill bowls with the candy and have a bowl at each game.

If your child wears a costume, please make sure they have a change of clothes they can get on/off themselves.

Please make sure your child has a complete change of clothes to keep in their cubby in case of a potty accident, milk or water spill or they get really messy from playing outside.
