March 6, 2012

I hope everyone is having a great start to the week! This week we are working on primary colors and the colors of the rainbow and yesterday we read a book called "Press Here"...the kids loved it! The pages will prompt the kids to tap on the dots, rub the dots, shake the book, blow on the page, tilt the book and clap louder and louder. All the kids had several turns at doing what the book requested of them and they really enjoyed it! Afterwards the kids had a turn at making their own Press Here book, using dot art markers, which should be in their cubbie for you to take home. Today we read a book called "Planting A Rainbow" by Lois Ehlert and we learned about yellow daffodils, orange tiger lillies and purple beared iris. As part of this week's exploration of all these different colors, we are creating a rainbow for our classroom door and some of the children have been helping cut out strips of green paper for grass at the bottom of the door.

Tomorrow there will be no car line at noon...if you pick your child up in the car line, please come to our classroom to pick them up.

We now have sign-up sheet for our St. Patrick's Day party and it is posted outside of our door.

Have a great rest of the week!
