October 28, 2012

Wow...shorts last week and winter coats this week! If there is one thing I have learned living here in the mountains is the weather is very unpredictable! I don't know if we will get flurries, 4" or 2ft of snow, but we got the snow shovels out of the shed and stocked up on non-perishable food! The stores were busy today!

This past week we worked on letters Ss and Tt, numbers 29 and 30 and a pentagon shape. We also counted by tens to 100, played in the sand table, worked with materials in the writing box, made scarecrows and mummies and played with the train/car table..,a lot!

This week...depending on weather, we will be working on letters Uu and Vv, numbers 31 and 32, the word "can" and the nonagon shape. The kids continue to make good progress on their letter and number formations! Our Bible stories will be from Psalms, Samuel and Chronicles and we will continue counting by tens and counting to 100. We will also be using the letter U and V play doh mats, using the rice exploration bottles and listening to fall and halloween stories.

Reminders:

Halloween Party on Wednesday! Come dressed in costume but please bring a change of clothes! If the weather is really bad and school is closed, we will re-schedule the party. I know the kids are really looking forward to the party and I don't want them to miss out!

Watch the ticker on the bottom of the screen on the WLOS news in the morning and/or sign up for text alerts from WLOS for school closings.

Have a great week!
