It's only Saturday! It feels like it should be Monday already! I am glad the snow didn't arrive until later Thursday afternoon, which gave everyone more time to get home safely! I am a little disappointed we didn't get the 6-12" promised, but having the sun shining and my kids being able to sled made up for the lack of snow! We got maybe 2-3" at my house, but it was enough for Jamie and Nathan to go sledding!
Last week was a rainy, gloomy mess but we made up for it in the classroom by switching things up and doing different things. One day we went to the fellowship hall and ran around and then watched a movie and several days we had free centers and then I set up stations for the kids to rotate through...sand table, water table, the leap pads, etc. We also made our one dimensional snow globes with pictures of the kids inside the snow globe! They had fun creating the globes! It looks like this week we will be able to get outside and run and play!
This coming week we will continue with our alphabet with letters Ii and Jj, numbers 45 and 46, the square shape and the sight word "big". This week we will be putting "fur" on polar bears, which is just shaved ivory soap. My kids in the past years have always enjoyed the smell and feel of the soap as they glue it onto the bear! This week is also our Snow Day party!!
Leader Calender for the week of January 22nd-25th:

Snow Day Party..this Friday, the 25th, in the Fellowship Hall in the morning. Your child can wear pajamas that day to school.
Raising A Reader Parent Meeting: February 5th at 5:00 p/m in Mrs. Gail's room in the main building.
Red book bags should be returned on Monday mornings, unless your child has been absent or we have had a really short school week and you need more time to read the books). When your child's bag is returned, I will check in that bag and check out another one to your child and place it on their hook on the wall or in their tub.
I still can only get 20 pics at a time to post on the blog. You will see several posts for today which will all include pics. Which I could figure out a better way!
Enoy the rest of the long weekend!
