This past week was a busy one...we planted carrot seeds, started working on our apple trees, learned and practiced writing the letters G and numbers 17 and 18. We also had a special treat of going to the Fellowship Hall to watch a movie and enjoy our lunch with Mrs. Kathy's class! The kids also really enjoyed a new block set that was given to me from one of my mom's from last year. It came with a table to build on. It can also fold up and lay on the floor..which is how the kids seemed to play most.
This week we will be working on letters I and J, numbers 19 and 20, the circle shape and the word "and". For our Creative Arts we will be putting the finishing touches on our apple trees and making a wreath of apple shapes to hang on our classroom door. In Science we will be watering our carrot seeds and hopefully be able to measure any growth! For our Language skills we will be doing a few interactive flannel board stories and some file folder language activities. We will be completing patterns, doing some one to one correspondence and counting to 30 for our Math activities. Our Bible focus will be these chapters and versus from Exodus 3:14, 4:10,11,12, 12:13,14 15:1,3 and 15:26.
The kids seem to enjoy bringing in pictures and objects for the letters of the week! I am glad they have responded positively to this activity. It takes awhile for each child to go through their bags, so please limit bringing pictures or objects to once a week so each child can have their turn.
Please remember to limit toys from home to your child's leader day only.
Also please remember to check your child's folder daily...it can be when you drop off your child in the morning or when you pick them up, whatever is easier for you.
Picture Day info will be coming home soon. The days will be October 4th and 5th. I will be splitting the class up to take them on those two days.
If you have any old halloween or dress up costumes that you are willing to part with, our kids would love some princess or fairy or boy costumes to play dress-up.
