Good Morning! The sun is shining, the birds are singing and it's cold outside! Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! I went to the Dillard's outlet at the Asheville Outlets yesterday and while I was shopping for some bathing suits, this older woman strikes up a conversation with me and tells me she is going on a Weight Watchers Cruise with 3 of her friends and needs a cute bathing suit. I offered to help, so she and I went through racks and racks of bathing suits and while were were looking, she tells me she is 72 years old and is a caretaker for a 97 year old woman. We both found several bathing suits and went our separate ways but kept bumping into each other in every area of the store we visited and ended up together in the shoe department. She showed me all the clothes she found for her cruise and told me how excited she is and told me to not let age or anything get in my way of having a wonderful life and doing what I love to do. What an inspirational woman! I am a believer that you come across people in life that are there for a reason. It may not be apparent to you at first, but if you stop and think about a conversation you had with a total stranger, there may have been a reason why they stopped to talk to you!
This past week we worked on letter Rr, number 29 and the rhombus shape. We also did some math, literacy, fine motor skills and creative art combined with science in our small groups.
This week we will be working on letter Ww, number 30 and the square shape. We will be doing some picture matching Bingo, math, STEM and fine motor skills in our small group time.
The kids are getting much better at cleaning up their centers before coming to large group. Please keep encouraging them to help their friends clean up in the center they are playing in and not to leave it for their friends to clean up by themselves. They did a great job this past week!
Please make sure your child has a complete change of clothes from head to toe...shirt, pants, underwear, socks and shoes. Kids at this age still have an occasional potty accident, they jump in mud puddles, they roll around in dirt, they spill milk and drop food on their clothes...and we want them to be able to change into clean clothes when they need to.
We will be closed this Friday, April 13th for teacher training.
Spring pictures will be available to view and purchase this week at a table set up at the end of the hallway.
