Yesterday we made groundhog paper bag puppets and wrote down our prediction...yes/no as to whether the groundhog will see his shadow today. This morning we watched a video of the ceremony at Gobblers Knob PA where Punxsutawny Phil lives in his heated burrow! We didn't see this exact video, but it was close---minus all the dancing! After the video we made a T chart of our predictions and half the class said yes he would and the other half said no, he wouldnt see his shadow. After we talked about our predictions, we went outside with our paper bag puppets to see if our own groundhogs would see their shadows...and they did! Six more weeks of winter!
Today we also played a snowball game where we drew a card and added the number of "snowballs" that was shown on the card to our own playing card.
Savannah can now tie her shoes and she colored her own little shoe and put it on our wall on our" I Can Tie My Shoes" chart!
Our clay monsters are dry and you can take your child's monster home! They are on the counter next to the computers!
